A fire door is an assembly, not a leaf.
A fire-rated door only works as a system: a leaf on a fire-rated core, a matching frame, intumescent seals that expand with heat, a closer that guarantees self-closing, and rated hinges and locks. If any element comes from a different source, the certification falls apart. At Hammer the leaf and frame are manufactured together at Abu Rawash, the rated seals and hardware are supplied with them, and the full set is installed — so the door is handed over as one assembly the consultant can document.
We supply fire-rated door sets to hotels, residential towers, office and commercial buildings in Egypt, to each project's fire and civil-defence specification.
Where they are used
- Hotel guest-room entrances — fire-rated, acoustic, prepared for electronic locks, in the room's veneer.
- Corridors, stairs and escape routes — sets with closers, smoke seals and panic hardware where specified.
- Residential towers — fire-rated apartment entrance doors at developer volume.
- Plant and back-of-house — fire-rated HPL doors for electrical rooms, stores and kitchens.
- Office and commercial buildings — office and corridor doors with rated glazed vision panels.
Manufacturing and documentation
The leaf is made on the same automated line as our hotel doors: fire-rated core and faces pressed in Italpresse presses, squared and bored on the KDT line to the rated hardware template, then finished on the Cefla line. We provide the consultant and civil defence with construction, material and hardware documentation for each door type, and label every set.
Matching the rest of the building
Because we also manufacture the non-rated wooden doors, the room furniture and the wall cladding, the fire-rated door leaves in the same veneer or lacquer — so the corridor door does not look different from the room door. Send us the door schedule with the required fire ratings and we will return a manufacturing plan and a sample.
